The song was released as a studio recorded single in 1964 and as part of the live album, John Mayall Plays John Mayall, in 1965. The single was the first released recording to feature future Fleetwood Mac core member John McVie on bass.

The song gained a new lease of life when it was covered by Katie Melua for her debut album, Call Off the Search (2003).
