Courtney Sixx (née Courtney Bingham) born September 5, 1985, is an American entrepreneur, producer, writer, media personality and occasional model who is the creator and public persona of How2Girl, a lifestyle brand, program and entertainment property that can be heard, read and seen through a variety of mediums and outlets including NBC television, FOX NEWS, iHeart Radio, Larry King Live and Martha Stewart Weddings, started as her personal twitter account in 2011.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] In 2015 through How2Girl, she partnered with Home Depot for their Let’s Do This Campaign.[8] Sixx contributes do it yourself Holiday driven content to Kylie Jenner’s app, Kylie.[9][10]

In her early twenties she became a development assistant to feature film producer Christine Forsyth-Peters, of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, at Paramount Studios,[11][12] and in 2010, after several years developing, producing and promoting infomercials,[13] including the popular cooking tool SlapChop, for which she also wrote the cook book that comes with the product and handled all aspects of global product development, manufacturing, distribution and logistics, a friend set her up with Nikki Sixx of the American rock band Motley Crue. The two married in 2014 at the Greystone Estate in Los Angeles.[14][15]

Early life

The daughter of creative director and designer/producer Robert Bingham, Courtney got her start creating home decor and gift items during her childhood in California by rummaging around her father’s warehouses, prop and machine shops to find materials and tools.[16] When she was 16, Sixx signed her first modeling contract with Wilhelmina Models; and at 17 she and her mom, Catherine, moved to Italy where she was signed to the agency Why Not Models Agency in Milan. During that time she appeared on runways, in print ads for clients like Dolce & Gabbana and was featured in a Burger King television commercial. A popular runway model, Courtney continued to model for a variety of designers and brands, including Betsy Johnson, and became a prominent runway model at fashion weeks and fashion shows in Los Angeles and Miami before deciding to focus her professional interest on producing projects, rather then being on-camera.[17][18][19]

How2Girl

Courtney Sixx got the inspiration for the name “How2Girl" while reading an article on Martha Stewart’s website and officially launched her brand in 2012. In 2013 she began hosting How2Girl Radio on iHeart Radio.[20][21] How2Girl segments hosted by Courtney appear on a variety of morning news and magazine programs for a variety of television networks including Tribune Broadcasting’s KTLA in Los Angeles and FOX LA.[22]

How2Girl provides tips and practical advice and instructions on how to create a variety of home design and decor items; fashion and beauty trends; and ideas and inspirations for entertaining guests at home.[23] All of the advice and ideas Sixx introduces are designed to be easily accomplished with modest budgets, supplies and building tools.[24]

Sixx credits a post on her personal twitter account about refinishing furniture as the motivation to pursue the development and promotion of How2Girl.[25]
