Corsicana Independent School District

Corsicana Independent School District is a public school district based in Corsicana, Texas (USA).

In addition to Corsicana, the district serves the central Navarro County towns of Angus, Mustang, Oak Valley, Retreat, and Richland. A very small portion of the district extends into northern Freestone County.

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]

The mascot for CHS is a Tiger (called Lady Tigers when referring to the female students). This is a school with around 1,400 students.

William Barrett Travis Elementary School was previously in operation in Corsicana. It first opened in 1923, replacing the Mineral Hill School.[2]
