The Communist Party (Partito Comunista, PC) is a communist party in Italy.

In July 2009 the party was formed as Communists – Popular Left (Comunisti – Sinistra Popolare) after the expulsion of Marco Rizzo from the Party of Italian Communists for having supported the IdV's candidate Gianni Vattimo in the 2009 European election.^[1]^[2]^[3] The first congress of the party was held in November 2010.^[4]

In 2013 it changed its name into Communist Party – Popular Left (Partito Comunista – Sinistra Popolare), while during its first congress in January 2014 the party chose to change its name into Communist Party.^[5]^[6]

On 21 January 2017, during the second congress of the party, Rizzo has been reconfirmed as General Secretary of PC.^[7]
