Combe Wood and Linkenholt Hanging
Combe Wood and Linkenholt Hanging is a site of Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It is in between Combe in Berkshire and Linkenholt in Hampshire, England.[1] It is located within the North Wessex Downs.[2]
Geography
Combe Wood and Linkenholt Hanging covers an area of 106.5 hectares.[3] The woods are described as broad-leaved, mixed and yew woodland located in a lowland area.[4]
History
The wood was classed in 1975 as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.[2] There is evidence in the northern part of the site that it was used as wood pasture.[2]
