The Cleveland Majic was a Cleveland, Tennessee based team in the World Basketball Association. The Majic are owned by Dr. Joel Wallach, and after the resignation of head coach Rick Hughes, Acie Earl was named the new head coach.
2005
The 2005 season was a good year as far as first years go for expansion teams, but the team could best be described as middle of the pack. Establishing themselves as a streaky team, the Majic won their first three games, and lost their next four to start the season. The Majic finished the season 11–13, and took their opponents to overtime in both of their playoff games, defeating the Gainesville Knights 110–106, and succumbing to the Southern Crescent Lightning 146–137.
2006
Prior to the season, the Majic's website remained down for a long amount of time, before coming back. The team will continue to play home games at Cleveland State Community College, and have a 2006 game schedule posted.
