Clavarctus falculus is a species of tardigrades in the genus Clavarctus being the only one of the family family Halechiniscidae. The species are founded in the deep ocean floor inside the Indian Ocean.[1] Along with Exoclavarctus and Proclavarctus both of them founded deep in the oceans, each with one species, the genus and the species were named by Jeanne Renaud-Mornant in 1983.[1] Its etymology of Clavarctus means the key bear (from Latin clavus (key) and Greek arctus (bear) as in Euclavarctus water bear).
