Claudia Christiane Endler Mutinelli (born 23 July 1991) is a Chilean footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain and the Chile national team. Endler was born in Santiago, Chile to a father from Germany and a mother from Chile. She holds both Chilean and German passports.

Trajectory

From childhood she showed talent for sports. She practiced tennis, swimming, hockey, basketball, volleyball and gymnastics. However, she chose to dedicate to football. She tried her luck as a defender, but the ex-Club Deportivo Universidad Católica target Marco Cornez, decided to try her as a goalkeeper. As an Under-19 international she played the 2008 U-20 World Cup.[2]

On July 2017, Endler signed a three-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain Féminines. Her contract expires on June 2020.[3]

Awards

Named Chilean Female Player of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2010,.[4] She has played the Copa Libertadores's final with Everton and Colo-Colo, winning it with the latter in 2012.[5][6] She was the goalkeeper who has the lowest "goals-to-games" ratio in 2016–17 season.

Playing style

She's been labeled as a strong, good penalty stopper, having great reflexes, excellent shot stopping abilities and distribution of the ball. Her style of play is compared with the German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Personal

Endler's hero and idol as a child was German footballer and former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.

She can speak Spanish, English and German.
