City Calm Down are an Australian four-piece alternative/pop band from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. They are signed with the Melbourne-based record label, I Oh You.[1]
In April 2016, City Calm Down received a $10,000 award from Creative Victoria, under their Music Works Quick Response Grant program. The award was given to them to help fund a tour of the UK and Europe, including a performance at the leading Brighton festival, The Great Escape.[2]
On 1 April 2016, City Calm Down participated in Triple J's weekly cover segment, Like a Version, where they covered the song "Spanish Sahara", by Foals. Before recording the cover, they pranked breakfast hosts Matt and Alex live on radio as an April Fools joke, playing a short cover of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.[3]
Their debut album In a Restless House debuted at number 25 on the ARIA Charts,[4] and the single "Rabbit Run" from the album, came in 137th place on the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2015.[5]
The band is currently in the process of recording their second full-length album.
City Clam Down's song "Your Fix" appears on the 2017 game AFL: Evolution
