Cineflix Media creates, produces, acquires, and distributes popular factual and scripted content for the global market with operations in Montreal, Toronto, New York, London, and Dublin.
Cineflix Rights is one of the UK’s largest independent TV content distributors with a growing catalogue of 4,500 hours of bold and innovative programs. Over 50% of their portfolio is made up of third party factual and scripted programming from producer partners.
Cineflix Productions is a leading supplier of unscripted content with a growing scripted slate. From its production hubs in Toronto and New York, Cineflix Productions produces approximately 200 hours per year of programming including long-running hits American Pickers on History (US), the Emmy®–nominated Property Brothers on HGTV (US and Canada), blue chip docudrama series Mayday on National Geographic International and Discovery Channel (Canada), the Food Factory franchise, which now includes Style Factory on Slice (Canada); and season 2 of Flipping Virgins, which recently premiered on HGTV(US). They are a major source of crime and investigation series to Investigation Discovery (US) and networks worldwide with shows like The Detectives Club: New Orleans and Motives & Murders: Cracking the Case. New real estate investment series The Deed and The Deed: Chicago for CNBC (US) follow property moguls throwing distressed developers a lifeline.
On the scripted side, season 2 of the gripping drama Gangland Undercover recently launched on History (US and Canada). New series Pure (CBC), is the story of a Mennonite pastor trying to protect his family and preserve his faith while battling drug trafficking within his community. Inspired by true events, Pure stars Ryan Robbins (The Killing), Alex Paxton-Beesley (Copper), A.J. Buckley (CSI: NY, Justified, Narcos), and Oscar® and Golden Globe® nominee Rosie Perez (White Men Can’t Jump, Fearless).
In 2012, Participant Media, made an equity investment in Cineflix Media. Participant’s more than 75 films, including Spotlight, Contagion, Lincoln, The Help, He Named Me Malala, CITIZENFOUR, and An Inconvenient Truth have collectively earned 11 Academy Awards® and 52 nominations.
Production partners play a key role in Cineflix Media’s growth strategy. These partnerships vary from joint ventures, development and co-production agreements, and first-look distribution deals.
In 2013, Cineflix Media formed Buccaneer Media, a joint venture with leading producer Tony Wood. Buccaneer Media's Marcella" (16x60') starring Anna Friel (Limitless and written by internationally renowned screenwriter and novelist Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge aired on ITV in the UK. Marcella" was one of the UK's highest-rated scripted shows in 2016 and launched globally on Netflix (outside of the UK). The gripping thriller is in production on season 2.
In March 2016, Cineflix Media inked a first-look deal with innovative LA producer George Moll, whose credits include the groundbreaking transgender series Becoming Us.
In May 2017, Cineflix Media and Duncan Gray’s Twenty Six 03 Content announced a joint venture, Twenty Six 03 Entertainment, to create high-value returnable formats and series for the global market. Alongside its successful music and comedy format – Bring The Noise – currently in production for a second season in Italy, with other European deals pending, the joint venture has multiple projects set up with UK broadcasters and is developing shows for US networks.
