Cichla orinocensis, sometimes known as the Orinoco peacock bass ("peacock bass" is also used for some of its relatives), is a very large species of cichlid. It is native to the Rio Negro and Orinoco river basins in northern South America, and reaches about 62 centimetres (24 in) in length.[1]
