Chuang Chia-jung (Chinese: 莊佳容; born 10 January 1985) is a Taiwanese professional female tennis player.
Chuang has won twenty four doubles titles on the WTA tour (including two WTA 125K series), as well as ten singles and 33 doubles titles on the ITF circuit in her career. On 13 November 2006, she reached her best singles ranking of world number 177. On 18 August 2008, she peaked at world number 5 in the doubles rankings.
Career
In the 2007 Australian Open, Chuang reached the final of the women's doubles with her partner Chan Yung-jan, but lost in three sets to Cara Black and Liezel Huber. She also reached the women's doubles final of the 2007 US Open.
In 2001, Chuang played for the first time for the Chinese Taipei Fed Cup team. In Fed Cup play, she has a win–loss record of 25–11.[1]
Biography
Chuang is coached by her father, Chuang Wen-Teng. Her mother, a pharmacist, is named is Xie Xiu Ling. Chuang's favorite surface is hardcourt, and her best shot is her serve. She started playing tennis at age 7 when introduced to it by her father. She speaks Mandarin, English, and Taiwanese. Chuang enjoys sleeping, watching movies, shopping, and singing. Her favorite places to visit are Korea and Japan.
