Christopher Campbell is an American political aide and government official who currently serves as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Institutions.[1][2] Prior to assuming his current role, Campbell was the majority staff director for the United States Senate Committee on Finance and a staffer on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary.[3][4]
According to Politico, the role of Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Institutions is among the most critical roles at the Treasury Department. Campbell is expected to have a broad portfolio, including assisting with tax reform negotiations; smoothing relations between the Treasury Department and Capitol Hill; and adjusting the Dodd-Frank law.[5]
