Christian Eckes

Christian Eckes is a 16-year-old race car driver from Middletown, New York. Eckes became the youngest champion of the Snowball Derby by winning the 49th Annual Snowball Derby on December 6, 2016. Eckes now races for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series and races Super Late Models as well.

Racing career

Eckes grew up in Middletown, New York. He began racing Legends Cars as a young kid. In 2015, Eckes moved up to the Late Model ranks, racing all over the Southeast region of the United States. Eckes began racing both Super Late Models and Late Model Stock Cars.

In 2015, Eckes began racing Late Model Stock Cars for JR Motorsports, as well as Super Late Models for LFR Chassis as one of their driver development program drivers. Eckes didn't see too much success in 2015, but that all changed one year later.

In 2016, Eckes consistently was a threat for top-five finishes and wins, but he didn't break into victory lane until the end of the year. Earlier that year, Eckes made his ARCA Racing Series debut at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in Tennessee[1] and made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut at Virginia's Dominion Raceway.[2] In 2016, Eckes became the youngest champion of the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.[3] Eckes ended the season by winning his only three races of the season - the Myrtle Beach 400 at Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC), Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) and the Snowball Derby. [4]

Eckes is racing seven ARCA races for Venturini Motorsports with crew chief Jeff McClure and Super Late Models.[4]
