Christopher Aaron Jones (born September 19, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent.
Jones graduated from Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida. The Cleveland Indians selected him in the 15th round, with the 467th overall selection, of the 2007 MLB Draft.[1] After playing for the Atlanta Braves organization, the Braves traded Jones to the Baltimore Orioles on April 10, 2013, in exchange for Luis Ayala.[2][3] After the season, the Orioles added Jones to their 40-man roster to protect him from being selected by another team in the Rule 5 draft.[4] He was designated for assignment in February, and released.[5] He was then re-signed to a minor league contract on March 3, 2014.[6]
On March 29, 2016, the Orioles traded Jones to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for Natanael Delgado and Erick Salcedo.[7] He began the 2016 season with the Salt Lake Bees of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League.[8] The Angels promoted Jones to the major leagues on May 30, 2016.[9]
On February 28, 2017, Jones signed a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles.[10] He was released a month later.[11]
