Chemoradiotherapy

Chemoradiotherapy (CRT, CRTx) is the combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat cancer.[1] Synonyms include radiochemotherapy (RCTx, RT-CT) and chemoradiation.

Chemoradiation can be concurrent[2] (together) or sequential (one after the other).[3]

The chemotherapy component can be or include a radiosensitizing agent.[2]

Chemoradiotherapy as neoadjuvant therapy before surgery has been shown to be effective in various cancers.
