Alex McAulay
Alex McAulay (born January 20, 1977 in Seattle, Washington) is an American novelist, screenwriter, and musician.
Career
McAulay is the author of Shelter Me, Oblivion Road, Lost Summer, and Bad Girls, published by Pocket Books/Simon & Schuster.[1] He has written for Eastbound & Down and his script Flower appeared on the 2012 Black List.[2] Flower is currently in post-production, produced by Danny McBride and Rough House Pictures, starring Zoey Deutch, Kathryn Hahn and Adam Scott, and directed by Max Winkler. McAulay also wrote the sequel to The War of the Roses, which is being produced by David Permut and Grey Eagle Films.[3] He is currently working on a new TV series set in Nashville with actor/comedian Jack Black.[4]
Under the name Charles Douglas, McAulay has recorded five indie-rock albums, including The Lives of Charles Douglas which features Maureen Tucker from The Velvet Underground on drums, and Statecraft with Joey Santiago from The Pixies on guitars.[5] He has also worked as an A&R executive for several record labels, and served as VP for No.6 Records in New York. He currently lives in Santa Monica.
