Renovations and additions
Central Davis Junior High's middle school campus has gone through many renovations and add-ons over the past twenty years. It began with the 9th grade class of 1991 building what is now called the New Addition, as a class gift to the school. The New Addition added nine classrooms, a cafeteria, and a common room.
The second add-on to Central's campus was the armory. In 1992, the Utah National Guard gave up possession of a weapons storage and office facility next to Central Davis's campus. The Guard had already allowed the school use of classroom and gymnasium space in this building for years previously. The school district gladly accepted the building.
The third addition to the campus was completed in 2002. With the help of Layton City funding, Davis School District completed the largest school gymnasium in Davis County. Costing over $3 million, the gym is now used for both boys' and girls' gym classes and city basketball leagues.
