Celtic Woman: The Story so Far

The DVD also included the 55-minute documentary The Story so Far. The Story so Far follows the group from its creation in 2004 to film the original DVD and PBS special, up to the A Christmas Celebration show in 2007 and into 2008 with indications of another North American tour to take place in early 2009 as well as another DVD and PBS special - later to be Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart, which was filmed at Powerscourt House and Gardens in summer 2009.

Members Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lisa Kelly, Máiréad Nesbitt, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe all gave interviews as part of the documentary, as did CEO Scott Porter and director/composer David Downes, among others. Deirdre Shannon only appeared during a brief interview section from the 2005 North American Tour, and Méav Ní Mhaolchatha only appeared during a brief interview segment from the Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration show (although both featured throughout the DVD). Hayley Westenra, who appeared during the Celtic Woman: A New Journey segment did not give an interview.

The Story so Far covered the Celtic Woman (Helix, 2004), North American Tour (2005), Celtic Woman: A New Journey (Slane Castle, 2006), and Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration (Helix, 2007) shows among others. Also covered were recording sessions with the girls and another recording session with Irish Film Orchestra conductor John Page (a friend of David Downes), the Irish Film Orchestra, and Máiréad (who only appeared once on film during this session) during the preliminary recording of the music for A New Journey in early 2006.
