Céline van Gerner (born 1 December 1994) is a Dutch elite artistic gymnast. She was born in Zwolle, Netherlands, but grew up in Emmeloord.

Céline took up gymnastics at age seven at a local club in Emmeloord, Netherlands, and later moved to Turncentrum Sportstad Heerenveen (TSH). She is now a two-time Olympian, having competed in the London games in 2012 (where she finished 12th in the all-around & 9th on UB) & again at the Rio games in 2016 as part of the Dutch team (now referred to as Team Orange Elegance), they are the first Dutch team to participate in the games since 1976, (team members Céline van Gerner, Sanne Wevers, Lieke Wevers, Vera van Pol & Eythora Thorsdottir) they finished in 7th place.

Career

2008 EK Juniors Clermont Ferrand (Fra) - 3rd place in team competition.

2009 Dutch Junior Champion EYOF, Finland - 3rd in the AA, 3rd on BB & 3rd in team final. She was named Sportswoman of the year in the province of Flevoland & Sporting Talent of the year for the Northeast KNGU.

2010 WK Rotterdam - 19th in the AA & 9th in the team final. EK Birmingham (Eng) - 4th on BB. Again named Sportswoman of the year in the province of Flevoland & Sportswoman of the year for the Northeast KNGU.

2011 World Championships in Tokyo (Jap) - 17th in the AA final, Dutch Championships - 1st AA, 1st FX & 1st UB. EK Berlin (Ger) - 7th in the AA & 7th on the UB. Challenger Cup Cottbus (Ger) - 2nd on BB. Again she won the award for Sportswoman of the year for the Northeast KNGU.

2012 Olympic Games London (Eng) - 12th in the AA & 9th on UB. Dutch Championships - 1st AA, 1st on UB & 2nd on BB. Challenger Cup Gent (Ger) - 1st on UB & 5th on BB. Challenger Cup Maribor (Sol) - 1st on UB & 1st on BB. EK Brussels (Bel) - 5th on UB. Challenger Cup Cottbus (Ger) - 2nd on UB. Again she won the award for Sportswoman of the year for the Northeast KNGU.

2013 Dutch Championships - 2nd in the AA.

2014 Worlds Nanning (China) - Team 10th place, Cèline's individual sore was 53.466.

2015 1st European Games Baku (Aze) - 5th on UB & Team Competition (with Lieke Wevers & Lisa Top) 3rd Place. WOGA Classic Dallas (USA) - 2nd in the AA (55.550) & 1st on BB. Again she won the award for Sportswoman of the year for the Northeast KNGU.

2016 Olympic Games Rio (Bra) - 25th AA & Team Final (with Sanne Wevers, Lieke Wevers, Vera van Pol & Eythora Thorsdottir) 7th place. Olympic Qualifying Tournament Heerenvee (Ned) - 3rd AA (55.950). Dutch Championships - 2nd AA (56.883). World Cup Stuttgart (Ger) - 6th AA (54.566). Again she won the award for Sportswoman of the year for the Northeast KNGU.
