CATS in SPACE - London O2 Indigo 2016

Cats in Space (styled CATS in SPACE - The Band)[1][2] is a British "power pop" rock band formed in Horsham, West Sussex in 2015 by founder members, guitarist Greg Hart and drummer Steevi Bacon. Following the band's inception, vocalist Paul Manzi, keyboardist Andy Stewart, bassist Jeff Brown and second guitarist Dean Howard were recruited to complete the official lineup. The band went on to record their debut album Too Many Gods,[3] which, had guest vocal appearances by key songwriter Greg Hart's fellow co-writer Mick Wilson of 10cc, as well as Andy Scott of The Sweet. Notably, the Cat's seven minute epic "The Greatest Story Never Told" from the aforementioned album features a full eighty-piece orchestra that was scored, recorded, directed and conducted by producer Mike Moran.[4]

The band made their debut appearance at London's The Half Moon,[5] Putney SW15 on Wednesday 6 January 2016. After a couple more low key appearances they accepted their fourth show at the Stone Free Festival at London's O2 Arena on Sunday, 19 June 2016.[6][7] This weekender featured headliners Alice Cooper on the Saturday and Rick Wakeman on the Sunday.

Their fifth performance was at The Ramblin' Man Fair,[8] on the new Rising Stage[9] at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent on 24 July 2016. The lineup over the weekend featured many original classic rock band luminaries including Whitesnake, Europe, Thin Lizzy, Thunder, Airbourne and Black Stone Cherry.[10]

In December 2016 UK rock band Thunder announced that a new studio album entitled Rip It Up will be released on the 10th Feb 2017. This would also coincide with a number of live dates. CATS in SPACE were unexpectedly confirmed on 23 January 2017 as the official tour support.[11][12]

The Thunder/ Cats in Space 2017 tour dates were as follows - 17th March Manchester Apollo – SOLD OUT, 18th March Sheffield City Hall – SOLD OUT, 19th March Newcastle City Hall – SOLD OUT, 21st March Leicester De Montfort Hall, 22nd March Glasgow Clyde Auditorium, 24th March Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, 25th March Southampton Guildhall – SOLD OUT, 26th March Ipswich Regent – SOLD OUT, 28th March London Eventim Apollo (known to many as Hammersmith Odeon[13])

On Monday 27 March, CATS in SPACE were added to the Phil Collins BST Hyde Park concert line-up. With sellout attendance peaking 65,000, the actual event took place on Friday 30 June 2017.[14]

The band announced its second album, the follow-up to debut 'Too Many Gods[15]', simply named 'Scarecrow' with an official release date - 25th August 2017.

Track two, (which the band had previously showcased on the recent Thunder support tour) 'The Mad Hatter's Tea Party' was taken prior to album release date and released as a music rock video on YouTube[16] as well as all the reputable digital media platform outlets.
