Servant of God Carlo Acutis (May 3, 1991-October 12, 2006) was a boy who cause for canonization in the Catholic Church is underway.

Acutis was born in London, England on May 3, 1991. While his parents were there working, he grew to have a great friendship with Jesus Christ.[1][2] Shortly after his birth, the family returned to Italy and settled in Milan. He was devoted to the Virgin Mary and prayed the rosary daily.[2][3] As he was dying of leukemia, he offered up his suffering for the pope and for the church.[2] Since receiving his First Communion, he was a daily communicant and always tried either before or after mass to pray in front of the tabernacle.[3][2]

Acutis had asked his parents to take him on pilgrimage to the sites of all the Eucharistic miracles in the world, but his health worsened before this was possible.[4] He died on October 21, 2006.[5] After his death, a traveling photo exhibition of the miracle sites was organized in his honor with the help of Cardinal Angelo Comastri and Raffaello Martinelli.[4] It has since traveled to dozens of countries across five continents.[4]
