Carl Freedman Gallery (formerly Counter Gallery) is a contemporary art gallery situated in Shoreditch, East London.[1] It was founded in 2003 by critic and curator Carl Freedman. Originally located at 44A Charlotte Road, off Old Street, in September 2012, the gallery moved to larger premises at 29 Charlotte Road.

The gallery established itself quickly with a critical and curatorial driven programme. Carl Freedman Gallery represents emerging British and international artists and most typically presents the artists first solo presentation in a commercial context. There are normally 6 - 7 exhibitions annually.

Artists represented include Nel Aerts, Katherine Bernhardt, Billy Childish, Edith Dekyndt, Jessie Flood-Paddock, Thilo Heinzmann, Ann Cathrin November Høibo, John McAllister, Ivan Seal, David Brian Smith, Fergal Stapleton, Michael Stevenson, Sebastian Stöhrer, Catherine Story, Pieter Vermeersch and Tori Wrånes.[2]
