Carex alata, commonly called broad-winged sedge,[1] is a species of flowering plant in the sedge family. It is native to eastern North America, where it is found in Canada and the United States.[2] Its natural habitat is wet, marshy areas.[3]
It is a perennial that flowers in spring. It produces fruits in late spring and summer.[3]
