Cap-Rouge, Cape Breton

Site of Cap-Rouge today

Cap-Rouge was an Acadian village situated on Cape Breton Island, north of Chéticamp, in Nova Scotia. It was evacuated in 1939 during the foundation of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. This despite the fact that many Scottish villages such as Pleasant Bay were preserved.
