Canny Leung Chi-Shan (Chinese: 梁芷珊 ) is a Hong Kong businesswoman, investor, songwriter, author, and philanthropist. She serves as the managing director at Hiromi Investment Group Co., Ltd., Chairman at Hong Kong Pegasus FC; known as one of Hong Kong "four talented woman."

Biography

Graduated at Belilios Public School[1][2] and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (formerly named the Hong Kong Polytechnic), she was active at modelling and starred at television commercials, print advertisements and music videos in her youth. Leung then moved on to be an emcee at television and radio programs. She also performed at The Justice of Life a Hong Kong classic television drama, starring alongside Stephen Chow Sing-chi and Anthony Wong Chau-sang

Artistic endeavors

Since 1990, Leung has been writing lyrics and was a lyricist of many music artists, such as Andy Hui, Sammi Cheng, and Kelly Chen. While actively releasing her literary works, in newspapers and magazines, like Apple Daily, Oriental Daily, The Sun, Ming Pao, Hong Kong Economic Times, Hong Kong Economic Journal, Cosmopolitan, and Elle. She has over 45 fiction works published, and amongst them, "Bakery Amour" and the "Four-leaf Clover" Series have been adapted into film and a collection of television dramas respectively. Her later works also broadened to consist of radio drama scripts and movie screenplays.

Awards

Leung earned her first related award at 2009 at Beijing, being awarded "China's Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs",[3] her first experience about marketing and advertising was at Baleno and Mexx (both are fashion chains) at jobs after college graduation. After getting married in 2002 with Steven Lo Kit-sing, a businessman, she has joined her husband and becoming the managing director of bma Investment Limited.[4] She has to oversee the Group's businesses, counting music, movie, book publishing, sports, and food and beverage that include Red MR,[5] Karaoke, Loyal Dining,[6] and South China Football Team.

Community engagement activities

Leung founded the Hong Kong Pegasus Football Club (formerly named Tin Shui Wai Pegasus Football Club)[7] in 2008, for community building and improving the new town's reputation at Tin Shui Wai. At its initial season, Pegasus won the champions at the Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield. Given her continual efforts, brands including Sony PlayStation, Energy Watt, started to offer support to Pegasus. In 2015, Leung has picked up the role of chairman. She wanted a youthful and lively image for the team, therefore Pegasus recruited local footballers under the age of 28 to act as key players. The players Lee Ka-yiu, Tan Chun-lok, Lo Kong-wai, Leung Kwun-chung, Liang Nuo-heng, have joined the Hong Kong national football team.

Sports involvement

While Lo was the Chairman of South China football team in 2006, Canny managed the team's marketing, promotion and publicity matters. In a year's time, her efforts brought back soccer fans' attention towards the local football scene, and what's more, over 20 global brands offered sponsorship to the team, including Giorgio Armani (they also sponsor England national football team), adidas, Panasonic, Yahoo!. At the next year, Leung was awarded "HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence 2007". Her success at branding the team also enlightened Ng Pok-lam, a tutor of the Marketing Faculty at the Hong Kong University, and he wrote a book "The Relaunch of South China"[8] that has become a reference of local brand marketing case study since then.

She has been appointed to join the Board of the Hong Kong Football Association since June 2015. Being the very first female board member in the 100 years history of HKFA, Leung has helped to lead the board's marketing and communications committee. Determined to contribute to the betterment of local football development, she has invited eight new joiners from different industries, and enthusiastically she has been exploring partnership and sponsorship opportunities on behalf of the association.

Philanthropy

In 2008, she joined the Committee of Po Leung Kuk[9] and assisted with organizing a number of charity events. Two years later she dedicated to set up the PLK Football Development Fund. Currently she is a member of the management committee of nine educational services units operated by Po Leung Kuk to uplift the quality of local education services, which include Po Leung Kuk Lee Shing Pik College, PLK Lo Kit Sing (1983) College, PLK Ngan Po Ling College, PLK Riverain Primary School, PLK Horizon East Primary School, PLK Fung Leung Kit Memorial Kindergarten, PLK Mrs Vicwood KT Chong Kindergarten, and PLK Kam Hing Kindergarten.
