Candidatus Legionella jeonii is a candidatus bacterium from the genus Legionella.[3][2] Previously known as X-bacterium,[4] Candidatus Legionella jeonii grows symbiotically in Amoeba proteus.[5] This endosymbiotic relationship was first noticed by Kuang Jeon in 1966.[6][4]
A more recent reference[7] dropped "Candidatus" from its name.
