Caleijão is a settlement in the central part of the island of São Nicolau, Cape Verde. It is situated 2 km southwest of Ribeira Brava on the road connecting with Preguiça Airport and Preguiça via Calejão. Cabeçalinho is located 2 km west and has no road connecting. Monte Gordo is west of the village.
One of the hamlets is named Campo and Assomada located on one of the highest plateau in the area.
Writer Baltasar Lopes da Silva, one of the nation's greatest was native to the village.
The novel Chiquinho written by Baltasar Lopes da Silva has the first part set in his native village named Childhood.[2]
Sport club
- Sport Clube Caleijão, a football (soccer) club that participates in the São Nicolau Island League.
