Caconeura gomphoides[2][1] is a damselfly species in the family Platycnemididae. It is endemic to high altitude peat bogs and grassy uplands in Nilgiris.[1]

It breeds in small moor-streams in Nilgiris. Can be distinguished from all other species in this genus by the pale colour of the pterostigma and by the linear mid-dorsal marking on segment two. It also differs markedly from other species by its comparatively short and thick abdomen.[3][4][5]
