The Children's Museum of Science and Technology (CMOST) is a science museum for children in Troy, New York operated by the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. The museum has various exhibits, including almost 100 living animals.[2] The museum does not admit adults unless accompanied by children.[3]
History
The museum opened as The Junior Museum in 1954, a museum containing hands-on exhibits for children housed in the basement of the Rensselaer Historical Society.[1] The museum relocated three times until it finally moved to the Rensselaer Technology Park and re-branded as the Children’s Museum of Science and Technology. In an announcement in 2013, the museum announced a partnership with SUNY Poly CNSE and re-branded again as CNSE CMOST. In October 2015, the museum announced it will relocate to the SUNY Poly CNSE campus in Albany under a $100 million expansion.[4]
