Butlocks Heath is a village in the district of Eastleigh in Hampshire, England. The village lies approximately 3.4 miles (5.4 km) south-east from Southampton. It is in the Parish of Hound, which also includes the villages of Netley Abbey and Old Netley. The village is just outside the village of Netley which as Netley grew, Butlocks Heath is almost a part of that other village, though an area of woodland called The Bunney, though small, separates the two villages stopping them from quite running into each other. Netley and Butlocks Heath are both only just outside, less than a mile, of the city limits of Southampton as the Civil Parish of Hound is just outside the maritime city administrative area and located in the nearby Eastleigh (borough). Woolston Road forms the backbone of the village with roads spurring off it.
Along Woolston Road are two pubs, The Cottage Inn Pub and The Roll Call. Also along the main spur road of Woolston Road is a residential care home which currently caters for vulnerable adults. Woolston Road and the roads which spur off it (cul-de-sacs) are mainly residential. A local convenience shop along the road has recently closed down.
