Thabani Ndlovu (born September 16, 1980), also known as Buffalo Souljah, is a South African Dancehall and Reggae recording artist, songwriter and record label called U.N.A (United Nations of Africa Music Group).[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
Career
Early collaborations
Big Buff started his first group called "Intelligent Racuss Cruuks" in 1996, the group included David Zulu aka Deva Soul, Stewart Chamirai aka Jon Doe and himself, known as ULD aka Prettybway. Together the group released three Afro hip hop albums, a mix of traditional music called Jiti and hip hop which merged the hip-hop drum with the Zimbabwean instrument called the Mbira. Buffalo was later involved in a group called Street Discilpes, together they dropped an album called The Chosen Ones under the label DA Apostles. Buffalo Souljah also recorded an Afro Jazz albumn called 'Indolvu Yangena' on Good Times Records, working closely with Mzilikazi Wa Afrika.
Record deal: United Nations of Africa (U.N.A)
After some years in the hustle, Buffalo Souljah finally got his big break and signed with HOTWAX records, a record album owned by veteran DJ Waxxy. He now owns and heads a record label called U.N.A (United Nations of Africa), and signed his first artist, Vanessa Sibanda, formerly known as Queen Vee, in 2010. Queen Vee is a former pageant queen, crowned Miss Zimbabwe in 2008. After relinquishing the crown as Miss Zimbabwe in 2009, Queen Vee relocated to South Africa and met Big Buff, who eventually signed her to his label United Nations of Africa. Since 2010, Queen Vee has worked with celebrated musician such A L-Tido, Ziyon from Liquid Deep and AB Crazy among others.
Notable Singles
In 2008 Buffalo released a hit dancehalll single called "Bubble Ya Bums" for his debut album. The video was on rotation on Channel O and MTV Base, winning two Channel O Spirit Awards in the categories "Best Newcomer" and "Best Dancehall".
