Hubert Edgar "Bud" Bates (March 16, 1912 – April 29, 1987) was a Major League Baseball outfielder. Bates played for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1939 season. In 15 career games, he had 15 hits in 58 at-bats. He batted and threw right-handed.
