BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT) is a global communication software and service provider with over 500 customers worldwide supporting millions of subscribers.[1][2][3][4] The company provides cloud-based Unified Communications solutions to communications service providers, based on their UC-One solution which consists of two product platforms, BroadWorks and BroadCloud. [5] In 2013 the company acquired the British company Hosted IP Communications (Europe) Ltd. (HIPCOM)[6] and the German company Finocom AG, both providers of cloud-delivered unified communications services.[3]

Background

The company was founded by Michael Tessler and Scott D. Hoffpauir in 1998.[7] The products and services of the company play a critical part in the network by serving as the software which delivers and coordinates call control and information transmission over service providers’ IP-based network.[8] Its products include BroadWorks and BroadCloud. On May 31, 2016 BroadSoft, Inc. announced the acquisition of Reston, Virginia-based Intellinote, an enterprise messaging-based team communication and collaboration software application built for the increasingly mobile and millennial workforce.[10]

Awards

In 2013, the company received Frost & Sullivan 2013 New Product Innovation Leadership Award for its hosted unified communication platform product.[11] In the same year, thanks to its unified communication platform, UC-one, it won the People's Choice Stevie Award in the 11th American Business Award Competition. UC-one was listed in "Favorite Telecommunications Service" list.[12]
