Chad Johnson (born August 11, 1987) is an American reality television personality. He is notable for being a contestant on The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, Famously Single and Celebrity Big Brother 20. He is also a special correspondent for the TV program, Extra.^[1]

Personal Life

Brian Chad Johnson was born in Jenks, Oklahoma to real estate agent parents. He has one sister named Tiffany. In 2015, Johnson lost his mother to cancer. Johnson graduated from Jenks High School in 2005 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma.^[2]

Johnson served as a U.S. Marine and later became a real estate agent in Tulsa, Oklahoma.^[3]

Television Career

The Bachelor franchise

In 2016, Johnson became a contestant on the ABC Network reality television show The Bachelorette^[4] season 12 to compete for Joelle "JoJo" Fletcher's affections. He gained popularity as "Bad Chad", the season's infamous ‘villain’.

In the summer of 2016, Johnson joined The Bachelor spin-off show, Bachelor in Paradise. The show follows former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants living together and finding love in Mexico.

In 2017, Johnson made a cameo in The Bachelor spin-off show Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?^[5]

Famously Single

In 2017, Johnson was cast as a member of season 2 of the E! network reality television show Famously Single^[6]. The series follows eight single celebrities who move in together and try to solve their romantic problems. Alongside Johnson starred I Love New York's Tiffany Pollard, Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Keeping Up with the Kardashians's Malika Haqq, Dancing with the Stars's Karina Smirnoff, and Rich Kids of Beverly Hills's Dorothy Wang^[7].

Since 2017, Johnson serves as a special correspondent for the American syndicated television newsmagazine Extra.^[8]

Celebrity Big Brother

Johnson is currently competing in the Channel 5 British reality game show Celebrity Big Brother 20. During the show, the contestants are isolated from the outside world for an extended period of time in a custom built house and each week, one of the housemates is evicted by a public vote until the last one standing is named the winner. Among the season's participants are Brandi Glanville, Trisha Paytas, Sarah Harding, Jordan Davies, Paul Danan, Amelia Lily and Helen Lederer.^[9]
