Bell Katherine Morgan (born 7 July 1996) is a British singer and songwriter, who began her career in 2015 when she was discovered by music producer Jimmy Douglass, who got her a record contract with Virgin Records, where she released her debut album in December of the same year.

Early life

Born as Bell Elizabeth Morgan, is the daughter of Richard Morgan and Rossie Blerk both from the United Kingdom. Morgan began to have an interest in music from a very young age inspired by her grandparents "madison and patrick Morgan" who were R&B singers in the 80's, however over the years she was more interested in what I take Guitar lessons when he was 11 years old and piano at 14.

2012 - 2015: Career beginnings and Under the edge

Months after being discovered by Jimmy, Morgan began to promote his career in small radio stations singing acoustically his own songs, also began to appear in local fairs and karaokes. Finally in August of 2014 signed with Virgin Records and Columbia Records] by what began to work in its first album. Along with Alexander Erik Kronlund and Emily Wright wrote their first single "Rebel Hearts" that published on April 3, 2015 in digital download in the UK and a day later worldwide. The song achieved a good performance in debut lists in the number 39 of the UK Singles Chart, and reached the top 10 in Scotland, Norway and Belgium achieving Platinum certification by the IFPI and Official Charts Company. In North America debuted in number 95 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it reached its highest point on the number 43 of the list being Golden disc by the RIAA. The electro-pop song will give morgan its first nomination to the MTV European Music Awards in the category of "Best New Artist".

After working with a number of important writers and music producers, in June of 2015 the newspaper The Guardian announced that Morgan would release their first album in September of that year, as well as revealing that he was preparing his first national music tour .

Their debut album titled "Under The Edge" went on sale on September 27, 2015 by Virgin Records. The album sold 38,000 copies in the UK debuting at number five in UK Albums Charts and was certified Gold four months later. Worldwide it achieved a good commercial performance entering the musical lists of 8 countries. In Scotland and Ireland I entered the first five in iTunes, having sold more than 320,000 copies worldwide by the end of the year. Due to the success of the album, morgan managed to obtain two nominations for the Brit Award for best pop vocal album and best new artist being the youngest artist to be nominated in the year.

The second single to promote the album was "Tonight I Feel Better With You" an electropop ballad written by morgan in 2012 individually. The single did not achieve a great success however it was included in the soundtrack of the film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. Morgan presented the song live for the first time on the morning show Daybreak and shortly after in The Graham Norton Show where I talk about the experience of working on his first album saying: It has been something great being able to express what I want And knowing that people listen and like and support you is something incredible.

In January of 2016 went of tour in his "Rebel Hearts Tour" having as invited the English musician James Arthur in some concerts. The Tour I visit twelve countries of Europe and thirty states of the United States where I have the participation of Bea Miller and Cody Simpson.

Influences

On several occasions break to talking about his main musical inspirations, naming Cher Loyd and Beyonce as his greatest idols when composing his music. In December 2016 in an interview with the magazine 'Billboard' 'said:

I grew up listening to the most elegant and urban music but the R & B and Electro combinations I've heard in his music have been one of the main influences in my music.

At other times he has also referred to artists such as Justin Timberlake, Adele, Tove Lo and John Legend as other great influences in his music.

Musical style

Morgan's musical style is based primarily on R & B and Dance-pop. In a review of the American music portal Allmusic gave an opinion about the artist's music saying: "Morgan follows the example of the great British artists of Soul and new wave who have Conquered the medium but with a funny, dark and daring teenage touch that gives a unique sound to his debut album making it a great album.
