Boundaries is an upcoming Canadian-American road trip drama film written and directed by Shana Feste. It stars Vera Farmiga, Christopher Plummer, Lewis MacDougall, Bobby Cannavale, and Kristen Schaal. The film will be released in 2017 by Stage 6 Films.

Plot

Single mother Laura (Vera Farmiga), along with her troubled son Henry (Lewis MacDougall), is forced to drive her cannabis-dealing father Jack (Christopher Plummer) to her sister's house in California after Jack is kicked out of his nursing home in Texas.

Development

In April 2016, it was announced that Vera Farmiga and Christopher Plummer would portray lead roles in the drama film Boundaries, with Shana Feste directing from her own screenplay. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Bailey Conway were reported to be producing under the American production company Automatik Entertainment, with Chris Ferguson and Kenneth Burke producing under the Canadian production company Oddfellows Entertainment.[1] In May 2016, Lewis MacDougall, Bobby Cannavale, Kristen Schaal, Peter Fonda, Christopher Lloyd, and Dolly Wells were also cast in the film.[2]

Filming

Principal photography began on May 2, 2016, in Vancouver, British Columbia,[2][3] and was completed on June 3, 2016.[4][5]

Music

Michael Penn composed the film's score.[6]

Release

In May 2016, Stage 6 Films acquired worldwide distribution rights to the film.[2]
