Bongripper is an American doom metal band from Chicago, Illinois.

History

Bongripper began in 2006 with the self-release of their first album titled The Great Barrier Reefer.^[1] In 2007, the band self-released their second studio album titled Hippie Killer.^[2] Also in 2007, the band self-released their third studio album titled Heroin. In 2008, the band self-released their fourth studio album titled Hate Ashbury.^[3] Also in 2008, Bongripper released a split EP with Winters in Osaka.^[4] In 2010, the band self-released their fifth studio album titled Satan Worshipping Doom.^[5]

In 2013, Bongripper released a split with Hate via Great Barrier Records. Also in 2013, Bongripper released a split with Conan.^[6]^[7]

In 2014, the band released their sixth studio album titled Miserable via Great Barrier Records.^[8]
