Bondi-Metzner-Sachs group

The ordinary Bondi-Metzner-Sachs (BMS) group B is the common asymptotic symmetry group of all radiating, asymptotically flat, Lorentzian spacetimes. This means that B is currently the best candidate for the universal symmetry group of General Relativity.[1] It was originally proposed in 1962 by H. Bondi, M. G. van der Burg, and A. W. Metzner.[2]
