"BonBon" (English: It's okay, it's okay) is a Dancehall-leaning[1] dance-pop[2] and EDM[3] song recorded by Era Istrefi. It was released on 30 December 2015 through NESËR.[4] The song was written by Istrefi and Ergen Berisha, with production being handled by Cricket.[5] It is primarily sung in Albanian, with several lines in English. An English version of the song was released on 27 June 2016. "BonBon" won Song of the Year at Albania's 2016 Top Music Awards.[6]

In January 2016, the song's music video went viral. The song later charted in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Israel, Lebanon, Romania, Bulgaria and Wallonia. On 17 August 2016, it was announced that "BonBon" would be included in the dance video game, Just Dance 2017.[7]

Music video

The music video for the song was released on 30 December 2015 through NESËR's YouTube channel. It features Istrefi performing the song in long takes on a snow-covered road in Brezovica, Kosovo.[5]

In January 2016, the song's music video went viral after excerpts of it began being posted on social networking sites such as Facebook and Instagram, comparing Istrefi to Sia and Rihanna.[8][9] Following the video's success, Istrefi was signed to American record labels Sony Music Entertainment and Ultra Music.[10] In early March 2016, the video was removed from the NESËR YouTube channel after generating 30+ million views, and was uploaded to Ultra Music's official YouTube channel. In March 2016, it raised 100 million views and in the end of the year it had 250 million views. Since its release, the music video has received over 424 million views.[11] It is also the second most watched video of Ultra Music[12]
