Bolnisi Municipality
Bolnisi (Georgian: ბოლნისის მუნიციპალიტეტი, Bolnisis Municiṕaliťeťi) Azerbaijani: Bolnisi Bələdiyyəsi is a district of Georgia, in the region of Kvemo Kartli. Its main town is Bolnisi.
Geographical location
Bolnisi District is situated south-west part of country and has common border upon Armenia. Area of district amounts 804 km². The highest point is Lok mount. (2124 m. above sea level).
Administrative division
Bolnisi District consists of 3 towns (Bolnisi, Kazreti and Tamarisi) and 45 villages. The largest village is Fakhralo.
Population
The population of this district is 76.7 thousand people [1] at the beginning of 2009 and has diminished 7% since getting of independence of Georgia. According to population census in 2002 Azeris have been predominating with 66% at the ethnic structure of inhabitants. Georgians was 26,8% and Armenians 5,8%.[2]
