Black Horse Cavalry
The Black Horse Cavalry was a bipartisan group of corruptionists in the New York state legislature which during the last quarter of the 19th century preyed particularly on corporations. It usually blackmailed by introducing bills against the corporations (strike bills) which would be killed if sufficient money were forthcoming.
