Birth Of A Ghost is the forty-seventh album by Omar Rodríguez-López as a solo artist, released on May 5, 2017, the same day as the fourth At the Drive-In record, their first in 17 years. It is the twenty-second release in the album series initiated by Ipecac Recordings, the tenth of the 2017 series.[1] The album was produced and arranged by With Lions (Christian Celaya and Woody Ranere), recorded in Baltimore at Destiny Christian Church and Wrightway Studios by Steve Wright. The record was mixed at Wrightway Studios by Steve Wright and Woody Ranere and mastered by Alan Silverman at ARF Mastering, NYC. A short making-of documentary is planned for release sometime in 2017.

Original release schedule listed a different title, Invisible Chain Gang. It's unknown whether this title was meant for this album, or a different release altogether.

This was the first record of the Ipecac Series to not have a track uploaded in advance as a single as the label was anticipating a slight delay in releasing the remaining records planned for the year.
