Bill Evers
Bill Evers (born January 29, 1954) is a former bench coach for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Evers was born in New York, NY. He received his BA in management and recreation from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1976.
During his career in professional baseball, he hit 11 home runs in 274 games, walked 161 times in four years, and struck out 113 times. In 2005, he was named the Tampa Bay Devil Rays bench coach. Evers has compiled a 1,381-1,206 (.534) record, which is the second most wins among active minor league managers. He has won five minor league championships and has managed three of the Rays' five minor league championship teams.
Evers did not return for the 2008 season. He was replaced by former Devil Ray player Dave Martinez.
