Big Kahuna Burger

A Big Kahuna Burger as seen in Pulp Fiction

Big Kahuna Burger is a fictional chain of Hawaiian-themed fast food restaurants that appears in the movies by Quentin Tarantino, including Death Proof, Four Rooms, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.[1] The packaging was created by Tarantino's old friend Jerry Martinez.[2] Samuel L. Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction refers to a Big Kahuna Burger with his famous line, "This is a tasty burger!" to Frank Whaley's character Brett after eating some of his burger.

Since the name's use in films, some restaurants have referenced it in either their name or that of a product.[3][4][5][6][7]

Big Kahuna Burgers have also appeared in one film directed by Tarantino's friend and regular collaborator Robert Rodriguez - From Dusk Till Dawn, the former of which was written by Tarantino, as well as appearing in From Dusk till Dawn: The Series (also created by Rodriguez).

In Pulp Fiction the burger appears to be a typical American beef burger with cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a typical hamburger bun.

The music video for Aminé's 2016 single "Caroline" is partly set at the imagined chain, including a shot of a branded Big Kahuna Burger take-out bag. The artist is an admirer of Tarantino's films, and refers to them in the song's lyrics.
