92.7 BIG FM is a nationwide private FM radio station in India owned by Indian businessman Anil Ambani. It broadcasts at 92.7 MHz (92.7 FM). It mainly plays bollywood music but hollywood and regional songs are also played. It broadcasts round the clock.
Overview
Currently, it covers 45 cities. This is the only private FM radio station which is being broadcast from Srinagar and Jammu in Jammu & Kashmir state.[2] It has made an announcement to invest Rs. 400 crore dedicated to transmission equipment, infrastructure and licensing; which would make the proposed network the largest ever.
From 1 July 2008, BIG FM included Singapore, the first city outside India, in its broadcasting network. It broadcasts its programmes daily from 5 to 8pm on XFM 96.3, under the name of BIG Bollywood 96.3FM. In May 2012, veteran film critic, Bhawana Somaaya started appearing on air, as a Friday film reviewer .[3]
BIG FM is the radio partner for the Bengaluru Restaurant Week an event involving reportedly, the best restaurants in Bengaluru. A number of radio contests are expected to be aired that enable contestants to win prizes.
BIG FM's main tagline is Suno Sunao, Life Banao. BIG FM has few popular radio jockeys to name a few RJ Siddharth from Mumbai, RJ Shruti and Rashmi from Bengaluru, RJ Balaji, RJ Giri Giri, RJ Miruthula from Chennai, RJ Shekar from Hyderabad, RJ Vikas from Indore, RJ Sameen from Srinagar, RJ Kidilam Firoz, RJ Neenu, RJ Sweet Ancy & Rj Vishnu Suresh babu from Thiruvananthapuram, RJ Vinod Mamu Fame from Rajkot.
