Bhumidhar Barman

Dr. Bhumidhar Barman (born 12 October 1931 in Belsor) is an Indian Politician belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was the Chief Minister of Assam from April 22, 1996 to May 14, 1996.[1] He has been a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly being elected 7 times. He was first elected in 1967.[2][3][4] Recently, Barman has admitted of paying money to suspected terrorist Riazul Islam Choudhury for building a Madrassa in the state.[5]

In 2015, he was made a Cabinet Minister of Assam.
