Bevan Slattery
Bevan Andrew Slattery is an Australian technology entrepreneur.[1] He is renowned for building businesses that handle data and telecommunications in an innovative way. Slattery was listed at number 14 on BRW's list of the 100 wealthiest Australians under 40 in 2011, with a net worth of $103 million.[2]
Early life
Bevan grew up in Rockhampton, Queensland where he attended Frenchville State School and North Rockhampton High School. He developed his love of IT and technology while working for local government in his home town.
Career
Bevan has been successfully building IT and telecommunications businesses in Australia for nearly 20 years, and in 2014 expanded his efforts to Singapore and Hong Kong, followed in 2015 by expansion into the USA and Europe. He co-founded telecommunications infrastructure provider PIPE Networks with Steve Baxter in 2002; the company was sold to TPG in 2010 for $373 million.[3] Slattery is the founder and part-owner of SubPartners, a submarine cable group.[4] Bevan founded Megaport in 2013, which allows businesses to buy technology networking capacity on a pay-per-use basis.[5] In 2015, Bevan floated connectivity services provider Superloop. Bevan was inducted into the CommsDay Hall of Fame in 2017 for his major contribution to the development of Australia's telecommunications industry.
Slattery graduated from North Rockhampton State High School in 1988. In 1998, he co-founded iSeek, which was sold to US firm N2H2 for $US16 million in 2000.
