Besao (Ilocano: Ili ti Besao), officially the Municipality of Besao is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 7,040 people.[3]
The municipality of Besao is believed to have derived its name from the Ilocano word ”Buso”, meaning headhunter.
