Beira-Mar Futebol Club or as Beira-Mar Futebol Clube do Maio (Portuguese for "by the sea", Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: Bera-Mar) is a football club that plays in the Maio Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in Cidade do Maio (Porto Inglês) the island of Maio Island and plays at Estádio 20 de Janeiro.

About the football club

The football (soccer) club was founded in 1978 and is an affiliate of Portugal's S.C. Beira-Mar based in Aveiro, one of several in Cape Verde and the first Portuguese based club founded in Maio. Its uniform is nearly the same as the Portuguese club but slightly different. Other club affiliated to Beira Mar in the nation is in Tarrafal. The club in Ribeira Grande on the island of Santo Antão is not affiliated to the Aveiro club.

Beira-Mar has a single regional championship title won in 1997. Beira-Mar appeared once at the 1997 Cape Verdean Football Championships.

Its logo has a yellow seal encircled with a silver line, it has a brown eagle carrying the seal on top. The full name of the club and the club's location is on the bottom. Inside the seal has the letters written in white BM. The middle part of the B covers the letter M, also in the middle is an anchor. The anchor covers the middle and the lower part of the letter M and the outer parts of the letter B, on the bottom is the year of foundation of the club. It has the same logo to the Portuguese club but not the eagle.

In the 2013-14 season, the club finished 4th with 5 points. The club was withdrawn during the 2014-15 season and returned in the following season. The club finished last place in the 2015-16 season with 4 points and had a win and 10 losses, the club also scored 7 goals and became the first club in Maio to be relegated. Around September 2016, before the Opening Tournamant, the club withdrawn for the 2016-17 season due to financial problems, then the whole regional competition.
